Dr. Craig Rechkemmer, a General Dentist, has provided dental treatment for at-risk children on the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile since the program began in July of 2002. During the past 3 1/2 years, he cared for over 3,300 children through nearly 13,000 dental appointments.
Dr. Rechkemmer earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. His care for helping others was recognized by his dental class in which he was voted Student of the Year. Dr. Rechkemmer also received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. During his first two years at UMKC, he served as the Bachelor of Arts - Doctorate of Dental Surgery Class President and a member of the Student Council. He is a Missouri licensed Emergency Medical Technician, and Firefighter. He is also certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Basic Trauma Life Support, and Basic Life Support.
Dr. Rechkemmer’s love for helping the community is demonstrated by his involvement with programs such as Special Olympics and the Ozark Volunteer Fire Department. Craig is married to Fawn Warner, the Education Director at the Discovery Center of Springfield.
Mindi Norris assumed the position of Office Manager on the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile on August 20, 2007. In this role, she works closely with the Springfield school nurses in prioritizing and scheduling patients for treatment, coordinates our volunteers, maintains patient records using our dental software and files for reimbursement from Medicaid. Mindi graduated from Vatterott College as a Certified Dental Assistant with expanded functions and brings numerous years of experience to the organization. Mindi loves the opportunity to excite children about dental care and is thrilled to be a part of the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile program.
Laura Polocoser joined the Tooth Truck staff in February of 2006 as a Dental Assistant. Laura received her dental assisting certificate in 2000 in Vancouver, Washington. She brings 4 years of experience to the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile. Laura’s passion is working with children as is evidenced by her attitude and demeanor with the kids on the Tooth Truck. She says this position is a perfect fit for her – kids and dental assisting - the two things she loves.
Shannon Rogers became a member of the Tooth Truck staff in January of 2006 as our Administrative Assistant/Dental Assistant. Shannon graduated with a certificate in dental assisting from Allied Medical College in St. Louis in 1997. Shannon’s skills allow her to serve as a dental assistant as needed and to further work with school nurses, schedule appointments, work with the children on the Truck, help train volunteers, and file Medicaid. Shannon is very passionate about her job with the children on the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile whether it’s scheduling, assisting, or working directly with the children.
